About the Ozarks Healthcare Expansion
We're focused on your health.
The expansion is based on providing convenience for patients by placing more services under one roof. The location of the expansion will connect the existing Shaw Medical Building and the current main hospital building housing almost all of Ozark's Healthcare's specialty clinics and ancillary services to one location, creating a centralized space for patients.
Specifically, the new construction of more than 100,000 square feet will include the construction of a new medical office building, flexible clinics, procedure suite, centralized imaging facilities, an updated pharmacy, and a new food service area. In addition, a new 20,000 square-foot Women's Center will house modern labor and delivery rooms, gynecological surgery facilities, and educational spaces.
These additions will allow the facility to better serve more than 150,000 residents in south-central Missouri and northern Arkansas, who prefer to stay close to home to utilize quality healthcare services. As confirmed by a federally required Community Health Needs Assessment, Ozarks Healthcare continues to grow its facilities, services, and the Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group to focus on improving the overall health of those they serve.

Yes, call 417-293-4731 from your cell phone once you are in an Ozarks Healthcare parking lot to request a pickup. Additionally, our shuttle drivers will be patrolling the parking lots to pick up those who do not call.
What will happen to the current hospital buildings during construction?

The current buildings will remain functional, with some occasional detours. The main hospital entrance is closing and relocating to the Ozarks Healthcare Surgical Services entrance. Patient Registration will also be relocated to the lobby of Surgical Services. Currently, Shaw Medical Building is experiencing detours with its main and east entrances closed. Patients can enter using the North entrance (8th St. across from the H.O.M.E. building) and park in the main Ozarks Healthcare parking lot (South of Shaw). Please refer to the map on this site. Shuttles from parking lots to Shaw entrance are available.
What road construction will take place?
-
A small section of Kentucky Avenue in front of the main hospital entrance is closed because the expansion will be built on the street. Routes are being determined in collaboration with city officials and the Missouri Department of Transportation. We will continue to update our maps as road construction continues with parking availability. Area businesses will continue to have access from Gibson or Kentucky. As of August 2019, when exiting 63 North onto 8th Street, we request that drivers reduce speed and be aware of the construction occurring there. The intersection of 8th St. and Alaska Ave. is currently a 4-way stop, to ensure the safety of area workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
