West Plains Native Dr. Joseph Barnard joins Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group
Dr. Joseph Barnard, family medicine physician, recently joined the multi-disciplinary Ozarks Healthcare Medical Group. Bringing over 15 years of healthcare experience to Ozarks Healthcare Family Medicine, he will provide primary care services for patients of all ages.
Primary care providers play a critical role in healthcare and are often the first points of contact for patients at Ozarks Healthcare. Ozarks Healthcare family medicine providers are extensively trained and experienced, providing compassionate, coordinated care backed by the complete resources of the health system.
Dr. Barnard completed a residency in Family Medicine at CoxHealth Family Medicine in Springfield. He earned a Doctorate of Osteopathy (DO) from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before medical school, Dr. Barnard worked as a physical therapy assistant at Ozarks Healthcare Therapies.
In regards to family medicine, Dr. Barnard says he enjoys the challenge of the many facets of medical issues that he can treat. He finds it rewarding to build relationships with patients of all ages and across multiple generations.
Dr. Barnard is relocating to West Plains with his wife, Kista, a traveling registered nurse (RN), and their children. They have a daughter in high school, and a son recently accepted into medical school. Dr. Barnard and his family enjoy many lake activities such as camping and boating and look forward to their continued enjoyment of the Ozarks.
