Continued Construction to reroute Traffic around Kentucky Ave.

Beginning March 28, the City of West Plains and Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) began road construction near Kentucky Ave. City and MoDOT officials say the construction will reroute traffic near Ozarks Healthcare’s main campus for approximately 60 days. When coming from the south towards Kentucky, drivers will be detoured from Broadway Ave. to Utah Ave., from Utah Ave. to 6th St., and from 6th St. to Ozarks Healthcare main entrance. Kentucky Ave. will still provide access to the Burton Creek Rural Clinic and West Vue Apartment Complex.

The entrance to Ozarks Healthcare’s Emergency Department at 1100 N. Kentucky Ave. will not be affected by construction. Kentucky Ave. north of Ozarks Healthcare’s main campus will also not be affected. Ozarks Healthcare recommends patients use the 8th St. entrance going north on Hwy. 63 or off of Porter Wagoner Blvd. beside the large ‘H.’

“The health and safety of our patients are our number one priority,” Josh Reeves, Vice President of Development at Ozarks Healthcare, said. “Rerouting patients is not ideal in emergency situations. We want to make sure that everyone knows how to access facilities where they can receive care, whether it’s in the Emergency Department or a clinic in our new expansion. We apologize for any inconvenience and confusion.”

Ozarks Healthcare provides shuttle services from the parking lots to entrances. Patients and visitors can call for a shuttle once they are in the parking lot at 417-293-4731.

Ultimately, city and MoDOT officials say the construction will lead to a new intersection near Hwy. 63 that will connect to Kentucky Ave. and 5th St. for improved access to Ozarks Healthcare’s main campus long-term.

Patients and community members are asked to follow Ozarks Healthcare on social media and www.OzarksHealthcare.com for directional videos, maps, and further updates.
