Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy acquires Pharmacy in Thayer, expands Staff and Services

After acquiring Davidson Drug in Thayer in 2021, the Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy has added a new pharmacy inside Ozarks Healthcare's clinic in Thayer.

“We are excited to expand our pharmacy services for the Thayer and Mammoth Spring [Arkansas] communities,” Katie Mahan, Director of Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy, said. “After acquiring Davidson Drug in Thayer, we launched construction in our clinic in Thayer to add pharmacy space, including a drive-thru. Especially over the past two to three years, our pharmacy services have seen a higher demand. We are excited to grow our services to add convenience and reduce travel for those outside our health system’s main campus in West Plains.”

Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy in Thayer, located at 1375 Nettleton Ave., is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (this includes drive-thru hours). Ozarks Healthcare recently hired pharmacist Meghan Thompson as manager of this location.

Thompson is a native of the Thayer area and graduated with a Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. She resides in Thayer with her husband, Brice Thompson, and their son, Levi.

“I am excited to serve my hometown through Ozarks Healthcare,” Thompson said. “Being able to care for my community has always been important to me. With Ozarks Healthcare’s growth and expansion of services around our community, I am looking forward to providing compassionate care along with a great team of dedicated staff.”

Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy in Thayer can be reached by phone during business hours at 417-264-7115.

The Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy also acquired Bradford Pharmacy in West Plains earlier this year. The previously named Bradford Pharmacy, located at 307 N. Kentucky Ave. in West Plains, has transitioned to the Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy entity and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It can be reached by phone during business hours at 417-256-7533.

Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy located at 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. within Parkway Center in West Plains will soon transition its retail services for the public to its new main entrance area (inside its Medical Office Building on its main campus). Retail pharmacy spaces for the public will transition from Parkway Center to the main entrance area soon. An official opening date for the pharmacy will be announced via Ozarks Healthcare’s social media channels.

Those currently utilizing Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy in Parkway Center are encouraged to ask prescribing providers to transfer prescriptions to Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy on Kentucky Ave. (the former Bradford Pharmacy location) to assist in a smooth transition of location to pick up medications. Once Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy on its main campus is opened, the public will be notified.

In addition to growing for its community, the Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy is also adding technology to enhance the customer experience for all of its locations. Mahan says Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy customers can now take advantage of a mobile app.

“We are excited to offer a free mobile app to our customers and patients to add another level of convenience for those using our pharmacy services,” Mahan said. “The app, RxLocal, features in-app messaging, which allows you to text our pharmacists from your phone, and mobile refills, which can help you refill your prescriptions while on-the-go. You can also set reminders to pick up or request refills.”

To download the RxLocal app, you can text RXLOCAL to 64890 or download RxLocal directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Each of Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy locations accept all major insurance plans and offer affordable rates for non-insured and underinsured patients through its 340B Drug Pricing Program, which is a federal program that requires manufacturers participating in Medicaid to provide outpatient medications to eligible healthcare organizations at significantly reduced prices. Providing timely personal service, pharmacy staff are happy to fill new prescriptions or transfer your prescriptions for you. Ozarks Healthcare pharmacists are available to answer medication questions and provide over-the-counter medication recommendations.
