Ozarks Healthcare to Host Community Educational Dinner on Diabetes

Ozarks Healthcare will host its next Community Education Dinner on Thursday, December 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Willard Hunter Classroom at the Ozarks Healthcare Parkway Center located at 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains.

As the holiday season approaches - a time when it’s especially important to prioritize your health - Dr. Ryan Vaisler, primary care provider at Ozarks Healthcare West Plains Family Medicine, will lead a discussion about diabetes, including prevention, management, and healthy habits to support overall wellness.

Diabetes is one of the most common chronic health conditions in the United States, affecting more than 38 million Americans. The condition occurs when the body doesn’t properly regulate blood sugar, which can lead to serious health complications if left unmanaged. Early detection, healthy eating, physical activity, and regular medical care play key roles in managing diabetes and preventing complications.

The dinner is free and open to the public, providing an opportunity to enjoy a meal while learning about important health topics from local medical professionals. Seats are limited, so please call 417-257-6735 to sign up.

Ozarks Healthcare is a not-for-profit health system that serves more than 160,000 residents across south-central Missouri and northern Arkansas. With its main campus residing in West Plains, Missouri, the health system offers a full spectrum of healthcare for all ages through its 114-bed hospital, behavioral health, therapies, pharmacies, rehabilitation, and home care services, along with specialty and family medicine clinics.
