Ozarks Healthcare Expands Zizzer Clinic Services

Ozarks Healthcare, in partnership with the West Plains R-7 School District, is broadening the patient population served at the Ozarks Healthcare Zizzer Clinic to better support community members, while continuing to provide convenient, timely care for students during the school day.

Beginning this month, clinic services include non-school-aged children of all West Plains School District faculty and staff, as well as faculty and staff from surrounding rural schools, including Fairview, Glenwood, Howell Valley, Junction Hill, and Richards. Additionally, services are now available to spouses and dependents of Ozarks Healthcare employees.

The Zizzer Clinic was established as an additional walk-in clinic designed to offer easy access to care while children are at school. The model helps minimize time away from class and reduces disruptions for parents and guardians who may otherwise need to leave work for routine or minor medical concerns. With short wait times and convenient on-campus access, students can be evaluated and treated quickly, often returning to class the same day.

Supporting this growth, Ozarks Healthcare is pleased to announce that Emily Redfearn, family nurse practitioner (FNP), is now providing care at the Ozarks Healthcare Zizzer Clinic. Redfearn previously practiced at the Ozarks Healthcare Walk-In Clinic, where she gained valuable experience delivering timely, patient-centered care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University.

The Ozarks Healthcare Zizzer Clinic serves students, staff, and faculty of the West Plains School District, including South Fork Elementary, Ozarks Healthcare employees, as well as students from Fairview, Glenwood, Howell Valley, Junction Hill, and Richards school districts, plus Southern Missouri Technical Institute. Services include routine health checks, treatment of minor injuries, mental health services, and care for illness.

The Ozarks Healthcare Zizzer Clinic is located at 1013 College St. on the West Plains School District’s campus and is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments may also be scheduled in advance for added convenience by calling 417-505-7123.
