Community Blood Drive
Ozarks Healthcare is partnering with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) to host an upcoming blood drive on April 17 from noon to 6 p.m. at its Willard Hunter Classroom in Parkway Center, 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd., encouraging community members to give blood, save lives, and enjoy special donor rewards.
During March and April, individuals who successfully donate at a CBCO blood drive will receive a free Route 66-themed T-shirt, while supplies last, along with an Ozarks Adventure Pass valued at more than $195. The pass includes vouchers for admission offers to regional attractions, including the Discovery Center of Springfield, the Scott Family Amazeum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Branson, and Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.
Blood donations are critical to maintaining the region’s healthcare needs. The CBCO is the sole provider of blood, platelets, and plasma to more than 40 hospitals across southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, and southeast Kansas. One donation can help save up to three lives, and someone in the Ozarks needs blood every seven minutes.
Appointments are encouraged to help reduce wait times, though walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, call 417-227-5006 or visit www.cbco.org.
Donors are encouraged to prepare by staying hydrated, eating a balanced meal before donating, and bringing a valid photo ID.
Ozarks Healthcare invites the community to take part in this lifesaving effort and help ensure a strong and stable blood supply for patients across the region.
