The Super Volunteer Who Keeps Ozarks Healthcare Running, Kevin Lott has dedicated 16 years to the Therapies Department—always ready to help, uplift, and bring a smile.

Kevin Lott is a man of few words but many friends—and even more good qualities. A West Plains native, he’s a familiar face to anyone who works in or receives treatment at Ozarks Healthcare’s Therapies Department. Those who cross his path are better for it.

“I get to visit with everybody,” Lott said about the best part of volunteering. “I like it.”

Lott has served in his role longer than many people spend in a career—16 years and counting. Five days a week, he checks in at 8 a.m. and works until noon. Barring the occasional personal obligation, he’s someone the team can always count on.

“We couldn't survive without Kevin,” said Sarah James, departmental director. “He gets all our charts ready. He’s a printer repair master. He’s the departmental mailman, and sometimes, he even helps patients get where they need to go.”

Beyond his daily duties, Lott is also the keeper of holiday spirit. Whether setting up the department’s Christmas tree or stepping in as the team Easter Bunny, he brings joy to the workplace.

“It’s not that bad,” he said with a smile.

Kelli McKee, a decade-long member of the therapy department, has known Lott much longer than that.

“I’ve known Kev for a long time. We actually went to school together,” McKee said. “He’s here every day unless he has an appointment. He’s always happy to help.”

Ozarks Healthcare isn’t the only place where Lott is well-known. He’s a dedicated super booster of the local high school and rarely misses a Zizzer sporting event.

“Football and basketball,” he said. “I like both.”

After so many years of volunteering, Lott has left his mark through his cheerful demeanor and can-do attitude. His advice to anyone considering volunteering?

“I’d tell people just to give it a try,” he said. “It’s pretty good.”
